The Sydney team the Waratahs is based at the Aussie Stadium and they play as part of the Super 14 a league made of 14 teams form Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
There are sailing races during the year. The big one is the Sydney to Hobart race that starts on Boxing Day.
Soccer is a recent arrival and the A league only started in 2005. Soccer matches are played from August to February and the home team is Sydney FC who play at Aussie Stadium in Moore Park.
