Best reached by the RiverCat. Home of the first farm in 1788. The Parramatta Heritage Centre on the Parramatta river has exhibitions on the early life of Parramatta.
The Riverside Walk has paintings, native gardens and interpretive plaques told as from the Aboriginal people. At the end of the walk is soundscape of music and words. Old Government House sits in Parramatta Regional Park and is one of the oldest public buildings in Australia.
The restoration reflects the life and times of the Macquarie family and has some of the original furniture. Another famous building is Experiment Farm Cottage built in 1798 and built on Australia's first farm in 1798, and has some beautiful gardens and a collection of furniture from the early 1800's.
