Manly Art Gallery & Museum

Sydney sightseeing

Manly Art Gallery and Museum has the goal of showcasing Australian surf and beach culture, and also the history of the local Manly area. Located near North Head, the opening to Sydney Harbour, the surrounding area is filled with history about the areas early colonisation and its preceding indigenous locations. On this North Harbour head of Manly is also a large section of natural bushland facing Sydney Harbour's entrance. Opposite this is a stretch of impressive surf beaches.

Manly has outdoor and water pursuits for people of all ages. The quiet harbour beach is perfect for families with young children, the wave beaches are great for surfing, and the water's edge the place to join thousands of local and international visitors who flock there each year to work on their tans.

This culture, and the artwork and designs that go with it, is what Manly Art Gallery and Museum is all about. The venue showcases artists who have attempted to capture the history and surf culture of Manly, and includes bright colours, ocean themed pictures, and fashion such as bikinis, sunhats and Hawaiian shirts. Australia's beautiful beaches influence the way we live, work and play.
