Lane Cove River Tourist Park

This park is operated by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and was a winner of the best caravan and tourist park in 2010. It is just 10 minutes from the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Public transport is just a 10 minute walk away for trains to the city. Camping here provides a close to nature experience in a bush land setting thriving with native birds and animals.
The park is noted for excellence in eco tourism and sustainability. Accommodation offered includes en-suite and family cabins or grassy camping sites and caravan sites with concrete slabs. Sites can either be powered or un-powered. As a special feature for first time campers, the park offers pre-erected tents for families with bedding and linen supplied.
On the other end of the scale there is the “Tandara” luxury camping experience (“glamping”) in a spacious two person tent with full king size bed, and large screen TV, internet access, fridge, entertainment and lighting which is electronically controlled, comfortable chairs, wooden flooring and deluxe bathroom. A wide range of facilities are available, including BBQ areas, TV room, Recreation room, camp kitchen and laundries.
Park activities: bushwalks, bird and plant spotting, swimming, bike hire, rowing, guided night walks. Overall: Ideally located for exploring the attractions of the big city while staying in a bush-land setting.

Amenities: Campground kitchen with large electric barbeques, well equipped kitchen, and seating and tables for up to 80 people. The showers are solar powered and sinks and toilets are for the use of campers only. There is a fridge for storage of campers' food items and ice is for sale. For those wanting additional luxury and comfort there are 4 holiday houses and 2 apartments available.
