Sydney Bush Walking

Sydney sightseeing

Outside of Australia, bush walking is more commonly known as rambling, hiking, trekking or trail walking.

Sydney and its surrounding areas have many national parks and wilderness areas ideal for bush walking. Most national parks provide maps and signposted walk ways suitable for first time bush walkers. National parks for first time bush walkers include Ku-ring-gai, Sydney Harbour and the Blue Mountains.

When bush walking in and around Sydney, bush walkers should be aware of the native habitat and familiarise themselves with any additional local by-laws. All parks display fire danger signs on entry. It is essential that all bush walkers take notice of the warnings and follow directions. Etiquette also dictates taking all rubbish with you when you go and leaving areas as you found them.
