Completed in 1999, the ANZ stadium was purpose built to be the biggest and best sports stadium in Australia. The total project cost $670 million dollars to complete, and was originally constructed for the Olympic games in 2000.
After the conclusion of the games, the stadium was restructured so it could host AFL football, rugby and cricket. It also hosts special events on occasion, such as large scale concerts. At total capacity it can seat 83,200 people.
There are regular tours of the stadium which highlight some of the important events that have taken place there, from the Olympics through to other great moments from the many football, rugby and cricket games that have already been played here.
